Philip Marsden

Philip Marsden is the award-winning author of many works of travel, history, and fiction, including The Levelling Sea, The Main Cages and The Summer Isles. Rising Ground (2014) examined the importance of place in Cornwall and won three of the categories in the Holyer an Gof book awards. His latest title is Under a Metal Sky – a journey from Cornwall to the Caucasus – is about minerals and mysticism and will be published by Granta in October 2024. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, and his work has been translated into sixteen languages. He lives in central Cornwall with his family and a number of boats.
